"A Wonderful Time at Cheung Kei" - Cheung Kei's Third Quarter Staff Birthday Party and Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration.

A reading of an exquisite seven-character poem, written by Cheung Kei employees, opened Cheung Kei's third quarter staff birthday and Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. On September 21st, 2018, more than 40 staff members celebrated their birthdays alongside Executive Vice President Chen Xiaoxia and Vice President Chen Pengyu. Representatives from all Cheung Kei offices joined them at Mei Li Ru Hua Restaurant in Shenzhen's Xiangmi Hu for acosy dinner and a wonderful time together.

A Sumptuous Dinner

The venue was elegantly decorated with avariety of colorful flowers creating a warm, romantic and festive atmosphere. The sumptuous banquet opened to the sound of delightful live music and all in attendance enjoyed a huge variety of food that included salads, steaks, seafood, desserts and many more delicious delicacies. Lively conversation ensued as everybody enjoyed the gourmet food. The mood was jubilant, even more so as the attendees anticipated the next part of the program.

The birthday party and the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations began with lively opening remarks by the host. Employees from the group gave everyone a surprise performance of the Masked Singer and their stirring rendition of the song Little Dimples truly brought the house down. Following this, a short video presentation began to play on the large video screen – it had been made especially for all those celebrating their birthdays that evening. Each of them were featured in the presentation as they talked about their most memorable experiences during their time at Cheung Kei and their close bond with the Cheung Kei family, before wishing a happy birthday to all. The video presentation was watched with rapt attention and everyone was very moved by what they saw. At the end of the presentation, the audience gave way to enthusiastic applause. Vice President Chen Pengyu then offered sincere birthday wishes and congratulations on behalf of the group, expressing the warm feelings and love that exists within the large Cheung Kei family and among all our fellow colleagues.

A group of colleagues make a "hand heart"

The next part of the program was called "Sing! Cheung Kei" wherein three contestants took turns to show off their melodious vocal skills, intoxicating the audience with a small concert. Some colleagues swayed their arms in the air and hummed along to the music, while others spontaneously presented the singers with flowers. There was a great atmosphere in the room. After the concert the audience used Wechat to vote for the Sing! Cheung Kei champion. Hu Min from the cost management center was crowned the winner.

Qipao Show

After such a feast for the ears, the birthday party got even better with a feast for the eyes! The stage lights went down and stirring music began to play, then beautiful women, each wearing a Qipao and exquisitely applied makeup, came slowly into view before performing a magnificent Qipao show - a true feast for the eyes! The audience were transfixed by their elegance and graceful demeanour. The host then asked each of the beauties to introduce themselves. This was an opportunity for the new trainees joining Cheung Kei during the third quarter to show off their charm and varied talents. This resulted in a round of applause.

Interactive games are always a highly-anticipated part of any birthday party causing much excitement, joy and pleasure to all. During a role-playing game, three groups watched a video costume drama and then selected one male and one female to copy what they saw. Nobody could stop laughing as the video presentations were shown and the contestants performed their parts. Finally, after all the fierce competition, the team made up of staff from the cost management center came out top, winning the best performance award for their excellent role reversal performance.

The specially made birthday cake was then brought out and a familiar melody began to play. The entire audience began to sing Happy Birthday and those celebrating wished one another a very happy birthday. They then blew out the candles on the cake along with Vice President Chen Pengyu, after which he cut the first piece of cake. The party reached its climax as we each had a piece of cake and congratulated one another while listening to more singing from Cheung Kei's best singers and continued to soak up the happy atmosphere.

Everyone enjoyed the party so much that they did not want to leave and the singing and conversation continued for a long time. Each quarterly birthday party makes up a part of Cheung Kei's cultural activities, which are very carefully planned with the aim of offering much joy and many surprises to show how much the group cares for its employees. Two birthday parties have already been held this year. The parties bring great joy and happy memories to each employee allowing them to feel the warmth of the Cheung Kei family and to experience the pride of being a Cheung Kei employee.
