On September 1, 2020, Dr. Chen Hongtian, a member of the CPPCC National Committee, a Justice of the Peace appointed by the HKSAR, and Chairman of Cheung Kei Group, met with Secretary of Huizhou Municipal Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress Mr. Li Yiwei in Huizhou, along with a delegation of over 50 entrepreneurs from Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Both parties had a meaningful exchange on promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area jointly. Over 70 participants such as Mr. Yu Jinfu, a member of the Huizhou Municipal Committee Standing Committee, Secretary-General, and member of the Party Group of the Municipal Government; as well as leaders of the relevant departments and counties in the city attended the symposium.

Secretary Li Yiwei extended a warm welcome to Dr. Chen Hongtian and the delegation of Shenzhen and Hong Kong entrepreneurs. In his speech, he said that businessmen are the most valuable resources of society, and introduced the various services provided by the Huizhou Municipal Government for major projects launched in Huizhou. Mr. Li added that in order to build a first-class city in China, Huizhou is accelerating its efforts in fostering a first-class business environment, building first-class infrastructure, to attract top-tier projects to launch in the city. In addition, 18 major project construction task forces were formed, with each task force being led by a leader from the city. Members of the taskforce are scheduled to participate fully throughout the course of the project. No effort is spared in shuffling their calendars, enforcing checklists and agendas, in order to remove any potential obstacles for the major construction projects. The city is making a concerted effort to drive the rapid construction of the major projects, and is sincerely inviting the visiting businesses to work together and support Huizhou in building a first-class city.

In his speech, Dr. Chen Hongtian expressed his gratitude to Secretary Li Yiwei and other leaders from the Huizhou municipal government for their warm reception.He also shared his appreciation for the efficient and pragmatic working style of the Huizhou government. On behalf of the Shenzhen and Hong Kong entrepreneurs present, Dr. Chen said that all of them have made extensive investments all over the country, and have made immeasurable contributions to the economic and social development of Shenzhen, Guangdong, and other cities around the country.

In the future, they look forward to making more important contributions to the development of Huizhou, and at the same time, they will continue to inspire more renowned enterprises from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to invest in Huizhou.

Afterwards, Mr. Yu Jinfu gave an introduction to the economic and social development of Huizhou, including its development plan, key development areas, and supporting policy instruments.
