Three "Cheung Kei Charitable Libraries" launched in primary schools in Shaoguan City

On October 11 and 12, 2018, three brand-new "Cheung Kei Charitable Libraries" began operating in local primary schools in Guandong Province's Shaoguan City. Yang Zhenning, the director of Cheung Kei Group's Chairman's Office; representative of the Heungkong Charitable Foundation; and teachers and students representatives of the Nanxiong City Jiangtou Town Central Primary School, Renhua County Primary School, Renhua County Daqiao Kindness & Hope Primary School were in attendance to witness this monumental event.

In January 2018, Cheung Kei Group had participated in the "Ten Years of Community Outreach: 10th Anniversary of Heungkong Charitable Library & the China Literary Charity Summit", where the Chairman of Heungkong Charitable Foundation and the President of the Heungkong Group, Ms. Chak Mei Hing, had advocated her peers in the business sector to prioritize corporate social responsibility. Hence, Cheung Kei Group had pledged to make adonation for building three children's community library in rural districts atthe event and had chosen to support the children of the Renhua County and Nanxiong City in Shaoguan.

At the unveiling event of the "Cheung Kei Charitable Library", on behalf of the Cheung Kei Group, Director Yang Zhenning had conveyed our congratulations to the successful launch of the three community libraries, as well as our acknowledgment for the construction and planning work undertaken by the Heungkong Charitable Foundation. Through our involvement in this project, we hope to help the children develop literacy skills, gain new knowledge, and foster their love of reading through the brand-new libraries.

The newly revamped libraries utilize a design plant hat differs from the conventional layouts of libraries, allowing the libraries to be more functional and giving their spaces more possibilities. The reading environment in the libraries has been greatly improved and enriched, creating a welcoming environment that encourages teachers and students to read for pleasure and to engage in other fun learning activities.

The teacher in charge of managing the library shared, "The upgraded and revamped library has been a pleasant surprise to the students. Our students now enjoy coming to the library to read after their classes, the variety of books here is very diverse, and has really improved our teachers and students' enthusiasm for reading."
