On December 27, 2017, Cheung Kei Group donated RMB500,000 to the Central Hospital in Guitou Town, Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province to build a complex for public health services (hereinafter referred to as "public health complex"). This public health complex will be named "Cheung Kei Complex" upon its completion.

Rendering of the public health complex

Located in the limestone mountain area in northern Guangdong, Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County is one of the three minority autonomous counties and one of the 16 poverty-relief and development counties in Guangdong Province. Founded in 1957, the Central Hospital is the only non-profit medical institution within the jurisdiction of Guitou Town. The immunization building of this hospital was built in the 1980s. After being soaked in the devastating floods on July 15, 2006, the roofs and walls of the building were cracked, so there will be a serious safety risk if people continue to use the building.

In order to improve the basic public health service conditions of the Central Hospital in Guitou Town and enhance the local medical quality, the Health and Family Planning Bureau of Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County planned to build a five-floor public health complex of about 2,000 square meters and a total investment of RMB6.2 million on the vacant lot between the immunization buildingand the inpatient building of the Central Hospital. This project has been supported by kind-hearted people and charities from all walks of life.
