On 26 August 2020, Jilin Province's Party Secretary Bayanqolu, Governor Jing Junhai, Provincial Party Secretary Hu Jiafu, Vice Governor Cai Dong and other leaders met with a delegation of renowned Shenzhen and Hong Kong entrepreneurs who attended the Fifth Jilin Entrepreneurs Convention. The delegation included Dr. Chen Hongtian, a member of the CPPCC National Committee, a Justice of the Peace appointed by the HKSAR, Chairman of Harmony Club, and Chairman of Cheung Kei Group.

At the meeting, Secretary Bayanqolu said that as accomplished entrepreneurs from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, members of the National Committee of the CPPCC, and deputies to the National People's Congress, those in attendance are important forces in driving the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He applauded them for their contributions to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong, and for promoting regional cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and for supporting the overall economic and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the country.

The theme of the Jilin Entrepreneurs Conventionthis year is "Taking on a New Mission, Integrating into the Dual Circulation Economy". At present, Jilin is in the midst of planning its "14th Five-Year Plan", researching on restructuring its economy to integrate with the larger domestic circulation, docking with the domestic and international dual circulation loop, and strengthening its cooperation with major national development strategies. Secretary Bayanqolu expressed his hope that Hong Kong and Shenzhen businesses will seize the opportunity of Jilin's revitalization and development, further strengthen in-depth cooperation between businesses in both regions, continue to increase their investment in Jilin, and foster more meaningful collaborations, to achieve a win-win situation for the parties involved.

Dr. Chen Hongtian thanked the Jilin Province Party Committee and the provincial government for their support to Shenzhen and Hong Kong businesses, and introduced all the entrepreneurs present at the meeting. He added that the entrepreneurs present were all members of Harmony Club and their businesses are the leaders in their respective industries. Members of Harmony Club are active philanthropists, and have donated over RMB 10 billion to various social causes over the years, with the average annual donation of over RMB 500 million. He concluded that he would continue playing an active role in encouraging more entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to embark on collaborations in Jilin, to tap into the vast opportunities during this revitalisation phase of the province, and to make greater contributions to promote the revitalisation of Jilin.
