On June 13, 2019, Dr. Chen Hongtian, a CPPCC National Committee member, a Justice of the Peace appointed by the Hong Kong SAR, and Cheung Kei Group's Chairman attended the “Celebration of the 70TH anniversary, 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR of the People's Republic of China cum 30th anniversary of the Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation” gala dinner with fellow business leaders from Shenzhen and Hong Kong. At the event, he was conferred the title of Honorary Chairman of the Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation.

National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Vice-Chairman Leung Chun-ying, the United Front Work Department's Executive Vice-Minister Zhang Yijiong, China Liaison Office's Deputy Director Tan Tieniu, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in Hong Kong SAR's Deputy Commissioner Song Ru'an, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison's Deputy Chief of Staff Yang Xiaoha, CPPCC Standing Committee member and Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation President Henry Tang Ying-yen, and other business and political leaders officiated the event. More than 2,000 leaders of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and United Front Work Department, members of the Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation, and other participants attended the event.

During the gala dinner attended by business leaders from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Kingao Science & Technology Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. Chairman Shu Xin was also awarded a Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation Honorary Chairman certificate. Mission Hills Group Chairman and CEO Zhu Dingjian was conferred the title of Executive Chairman, Xinyi Group chairman Li Xianyi, East Pacific Group's Chairman Huang Chubiao, Hydoo International Holding Executive Director and Chairman Wong Choi Hin, Haiya Commercial Co., Ltd. Chairman Tu Huilong, The Glorious Sun Group Building Chairman Francis Choi were also conferred the titles of Chairpersons.

The Friends of Hong Kong Association Development Foundation was established in 1989, and currently has over 600 members, including Representatives of the National People's Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and members of the China Overseas Friendship Association.  Prior to the handover of Hong Kong, the Association's aim was to unite a group of patriotic people, to contribute to the smooth transition and handover of Hong Kong. Since the handover,the Association has proactively supported the Chief Executive and the SAR government in its governance, to maintaining Hong Kong's prosperity and stability. It has now become an important platform for Representatives of the National People's Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and members of the China Overseas Friendship Association to interact, and to play their role in contributing to society.
