Executive Vice President Dr. Chen Xiaoxia visited Heyuan Ya’se Village; Cheung Kei Group’s another move for public welfare

On June 20, 2017, Executive Vice President of Cheung Kei Group Dr. Chen Xiaoxia and Hu Hengfang, Party Member of Shenzhen Newspaper Group and Chief Editor of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily visited Jiangdong New District, Heyuan City. A donation of RMB350,000 made by Cheung Kei Group is spent to build a bridge in Ya'se Village, Guzhu Town, which is designated to be help by Shenzhen Newspaper Group.

The visit

During the visit, Executive Vice President Dr. Chen Xiaoxia said, with great landscape and beautiful environment, Ya'se Village has natural advantages in planting and breeding industry.  However, the backward transport infrastructure restricted the villagers from getting rid of poverty. As an International value investment group with social conscience, Cheung Kei Group has been enthusiastic about social welfare and paid attention to the cause of education and poverty alleviation. In recent years, it made an accumulated public donations of more than RMB200 million. For a long time, Cheung Kei Group and Shenzhen Special Zone Daily maintained a good cooperation and win-win relationship, and by this visit, Cheung Kei Group is willing to work with Shenzhen Special Zone Daily to truly realize the goal of "really help to get rid of poverty" through concerted efforts.

Listening to project report

Chief editor Hu Hengfang said, helping Ya'se Village is important for both the Newspaper Group and the Special Zone Daily and he said that the society should also be mobilized to help and support it. Cheung Kei Group's generous move solved the shortcomings of bad traffic in Ya'se Village and laid solid foundation for villagers to get rid of poverty. We will earmark the funds for special use in accordance with the requirements of the Group and make a monument when the project is completed.

The dam bridge of Ya'se Village is flooded

Leaders of Guzhu Town, Ya'se Village and the stationed cadres of Shenzhen Newspaper Group made introduction on the project. Ya'se Village is an administrative village governed by Guzhu Town, Jiangdong New District, Heyuan City and it is the poverty alleviation village of Shenzhen Newspaper Group in the precise work for poverty alleviation in the new era. Ya'se Village covers about six square kilometers with a weak collective economy and backward infrastructure.

The dam bridge proposed to be constructed is located on the village road of Ya'se Village. The road is originally a row of reinforced concrete pipe and since the bridge is too low, it get flooded in every rain, which caused great inconvenience to the production, life and transport for students to go to school. The delegation team decided to build a reinforced concrete hollow slab bridge with a span of 13 meters and a bridge width of 7 meters. After funds for the project is prepared, it can move into the tender negotiation phase and then start the construction. The estimated duration of construction is 60 days.
