Cheung Kei-funded dam bridge completes the main work

Happiness Bridge, the dam bridge funded by Cheung Kei and located in Yase Village, Guzhu Town, Jiangdong New Area, Heyuan City, completed its main work on Sept. 27, 2017. Chen Xiaoxia, standing vice president of Cheung Kei attended the completion ceremony.

Yase Village sitting under the Yuewang Mount is one of the alleviation targets of Shenzhen Press Group. When rainy seasons come, rainstorms or mountain torrents flowing through the village river would make it hard for villagers to go around and kids to go to school. There were even kids who had been flushed away when they waded into the water. This June, Chen Xiaoxia and the leaders from Shenzhen Press Group and Shenzhen Special Zone Daily paid a field visit to Yase Village, with the intention of building a new dam bridge for the villagers. The main work of the bridge has been completed after months of construction. From now on, villagers don't need to worry about flood-caused inconvenience during rainy seasons and will be heading towards prosperity.

“At Cheung Kei, we never stop giving back to the community and taking on social responsibilities.” At the ceremony, Chen Xiaoxia noted that Cheung Kei is joining forces with Shenzhen Special Zone Daily to build the bridge for the village. Now, the great care has produced results in Yase Village and turned into this new bridge under the mountain. She hopes that this bridge would bring concrete benefits to villagers and mark a bright, happy prospect for the village.

For years, Cheung Kei has been showing its concern on the education and poverty alleviation in China, and participating enthusiastically in charity, with the donation of more than RMB 200 million yuan to all sorts of social non-profit services and progressive groups.
