Cheung Kei joins the “One Million Public Welfare Fund” hiking for CSR fulfillment

The 6th “One Million Public Welfare Fund” of Shenzhen was held at Shenzhen Bay on Nov. 25, 2017. Over 100 employees of Cheung Kei and their families, wearing uniform clothes and standing in square formation, with flag in their hand, joined this program to demonstrate the pride of the team. Cheung Kei has supported this program for 4 consecutive years. This year, it donated another 100,000 yuan, adding the total amount to 900,000 yuan. The company’s standing vice president Chen Xiaoxia and vice president Chen Pengyu attended the occasion, joining the employees in hiking throughout the activity.

As an international company of value investment with sense of social responsibility, Cheung Kei, led by Chairman Chen Hongtian, actively commits itself to public welfare and CSR fulfillment. Cheung Kei was honored as “Caring Enterprise” by the sponsors including Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, Shenzhen Organizing Committee Office of Care and Shenzhen Public Welfare Foundation. Before the hiking, the standing vice president Chen Xiaoxia, on behalf of the company, received the medal of “Caring Enterprise” awarded by the sponsors. In her interview, Chen Xiaoxia told Shenzhen Special Zone Daily that, “The ‘One Million Public Welfare Fund’ program is always committed to helping promote the philanthropic activities in Shenzhen in an innovative, environment-friendly way and creating a strong atmosphere of love. Cheung Kei takes it upon itself to get involved, working with other enterprises on building a city of love and thickening the city's culture.”

For 4 consecutive years, Cheung Kei has been encouraging employees to take part in this program. They are all enthusiastic about the activity and supportive of the idea to raise fund by hiking. It's not only a green, low-carbon practice for health, but also shows their care for people. Many have invited their family members or friends to join the excitement and experience the health and joy from engagement in philanthropic activities.

At 9:20 am, Shenzhen Press Group's deputy editor-in-chief Lv Yantao delivered a speech, marking the start of the activity. Later, Liu Jiachen, deputy secretary general of Shenzhen Municipal Government,announced the starting of the first step. Cheung Kei, being the first echelon of the square formation, set off by closely following Shenzhen Public Welfare Foundation, stepping on the seaside greenway and hiking along Shenzhen Bay.

After spending 40 minutes traveling a distance of 2.5km, the team of Cheung Kei was the first to reach the destination “Sports Park”. Some employeesaid, “I'm proud that I could be part of this activity every year as the member of a caring enterprise.” Some said, “Philanthropy has become part of Cheung Kei's culture. We're happy to join the company's philanthropic ambition.” Also, some other said, “Taking my kid to a philanthropic activity is a chance to teach him the idea of helping people. It's a very positive experience.”

Despite the short length of the activity, Cheung Kei will continue to fulfill its responsibility and obligation as a corporate citizen, repaying the society with love, helping a greater number of needy people and passing on the spirit of love.
