At 8:30 pm on March 27, 2021, Hong Kong Cheung Kei Center and Shenzhen Cheung Kei Building, both operated by Cheung Kei Group, switched off their lights for one hour in response to Earth Hour, an annual public awareness initiated by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), to take action in supporting energy conservation and emission reduction, advocate low-carbon living and play a part in protecting the environment.

Cheung Kei Group has always been mindful of its social and environmental responsibilities and has been an active participant in the Earth Hour campaign over the years. Before the start of the event, the Group's official WeChat account had begun to publicise and share the promotional poster of the campaign, to call on its staff and office tenants to join them in taking action, to switch off any non-essential lighting and electrical appliances during Earth hour, in a bid to inspire them to join in the movement to protect the environment.

As the Group's headquarters in Hong Kong, Cheung Kei Building is a super Grade A office building created by a world-renowned architectural company. It is a world-leading project in energy conservation that has been awarded a Gold rating by the Hong Kong Green Building Council and has been certified Gold in the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building certification program established by the U.S. Green Building Council. Both the Hong Kong Cheung Kei Center and Shenzhen Cheung Kei Building have been committed to creating a green office environment by using energy-saving and environmentally friendly products in lighting, air conditioning and other appliances to conserve energy and reduce its impact on the environment while promoting a green, low-carbon and healthy office concept and practice.

Earth Hour is a global energy conservation event that has been held for 13 years. This year, the campaign is calling on people around the world to speak out for mother nature, as our natural resources are being depleted at an alarming rate. In the future, Cheung Kei Group will continue to take action and use its influence to raise awareness on environmental issues, and inspire more businesses and individuals to contribute to the sustainable development of the environment and our society.
