Congratulations to Dr. Chen Hongtian on being elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the 10th Committee of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (AFROC)

From August 28 to September 1, 2018, the first meeting of the 10th National Congress of the AFROC was held in Beijing. Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji, Han Zheng, Wang Qishan and other party and state leaders attended the opening ceremony.

The General Assembly elected the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary General and Standing Committee of the AFROC. Dr. Chen Hongtian, CPPCC member, Hong Kong Justice of the Peace and Chairman of the Cheung Kei Group, was elected as one of the standing committee members.

The All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, also known as AFROC, was established on October 12, 1956. It is a nationwide, people's organisation composed of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives. It serves as a bridge between the party, the government and the vast number of returned overseas Chinese and their families. It is a national, first-level people's organisation and represents the CPPCC.
